New Acquaintances

I speak to the darkness
That I've grown accustomed too
Because it does not judge
Having been exposed to
All the worlds fears
The tears shed while alone
The madness that grows
Within a fevered mind
After the day has given you
The cold shoulder

Dana

  7. Truly, sometimes the dark can be comforting. I like it sometimes as it gives me license just to be peaceful within myself with no one or nothing to disturb.

  10. Your poetry definitely belongs side by side with mine. Here, in just a few short lines, you have captured something that is pretty much a universal experience - bad days, weeks, months, even years - and a human need to find a place where we are not being judged. Well done - and more strength to your pen!

To have great poets... there must be great audiences
~ Walt Whitman

Thank you for being that audience!
