Words Imprisoned

Words held prisoner
Behind quivering lips
Afraid...
Afraid to let them fly
To be heard
... and rejected

  2. I think we have all been there at some point, afraid to speak for whatever the reason. I like the way you relate that to imprisonment, I have never looked at it that way.

    1. Thanks Heaven... for someone who likes to express their feelings to others, it is very difficult not to do so.

  5. Rejection does cause one to clam up. In a strange way it seems that we reject ourselves before others have a chance to when we fear it. This is one that I can relate to very well, and often still struggle with.

  6. Yes, I do think that fears of rejection keep a lot of good ideas unexpressed or shared. Whether in poetry or in other venues. Well penned.

  7. Being unable to express our concerns, our fears , the words wanting to escape but cannot, beautifully written.
