Imperfect Beauty

Banishing thoughts of imperfection
Allowed a smile to play upon her lips
For stars to dance within her eyes
And THAT made her beautiful

Dana, I REALLY like the idea/ message behind this poem. Like the idea of forgetting about perceived imperceptions.....and seeing one's own beauty as we should!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary!! It's really hard to look past our flaws and see the real us, but it's so important to do so.
Deleteah. it is so hard for us at times to see our beauty...and how our imperfections play into that as well....smiles.
ReplyDeleteA lot of times our imperfections are what makes us unique... and there is beauty in being unique! Thank you Brian!
DeleteReal beauty is;
ReplyDeletea) in the eye of the beholder
b) more usually internal than external
c) not defined, for me at least, by the mass-media promoted idea of perfection.
It is our imperfections that make us individual and interesting.
Exactly!! You've summed it up perfectly!
DeleteWhen we become comfortable with ourselves, we worry less about the exterior. In my opinion.
ReplyDeletePamela
I agree... and once that happens we can find peace within ourselves! Thanks Pamela!
DeletePerfect. Not a wasted word.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much! I appreciate you stopping by to read!!
Deleteimperfections make us unique and beautiful in our own way.
ReplyDeleteYup! Exactly Truedessa!! I just wish more people would realize this!

ReplyDeleteThank you very much! I appreciate you coming by to read!
Deletein few words you expressed how finding her inner beautiful made her shine..lovely
ReplyDeleteThank you Dorianna! I believe finding peace within ourselves will make us shine!!
Deleteoh nice, i like this - it's never that we aren't beautiful, it's the doubts that we let creep in - and if only we didn't think about it we'd be fine
ReplyDeleteYour correct! We do think about it, unfortunately, way more than we should. It's a shame really.
DeleteVictory! The Beautiful Strength that lies within
ReplyDeleteYes!! It's a beautiful thing to except your flaws and see the real you. It allows your fears and anxieties to melt away and the true you can shine through! Thanks for coming by!
DeleteLots of truth in your poem, Dana. That always makes for a good one.
