Frosted Memories

Within frost dipped memories
The fragile limbs of loneliness
Squeeze my heart with surprising strength
Nibbling at my thoughts
Catching me off guard
Causing me to withdraw inside my mind
As I traverse the world
… and yet, no one knows
Because I still smile

  5. Exquisite. The imagery works so well in conveying the strength of our own loneliness. It's sad that we feel the need to hide it all.

    1. I agree. It's still taboo to a certain degree to feel anything but happiness, but also... if I make myself smile, it does help sometimes to lift my mood!
