Elegy

Whispered emotions break the silence of night

Confessing to you everything you will never know

Elegies absorbed only by the darkness...

And the heart of the conflicted

Sounding hard like warning bells

Just before a storm

To be the only one who hears them...

  1. That last line amped this one up for me. Well done with the twist.

  2. I love the way your quadrille begins with the hushed sounds of ‘whispered emotions break[ing] the silence of night’ and is broken by the hard warning bells of emotion, only to realise that we are alone with our thoughts and dreams in the middle of the night. Nicely done, Dana!
