On The Mend

For years I did fret
Over potential out-comes
Not making a move
Though...
Now my fears are realized
And I've realized
I was stupid not to do so

So...

Here I am
No longer fractured glass
And can see the truth
Behind the smoke
Attempting to repair this
The whole of this
The best way I know how

But how...

  1. I like this. it has a choppy flow that fits with the subject matter.
The repetition of "realize" in the first stanza is distracting to me...maybe a different word...
the melancholy here really takes you in hand.
    great poem.

  3. it is hard to know..how to repair, how to move on in the after...and a lot of times we are finding ourselves again...and in that we are the only ones that can truly answer it as well...

  6. With your pen, and your notebook and no more ears for the naysayers...we were born to bleed words, those that were not...have no hope of understanding. No Fear...if we survive the 21st...look out world! :)

  10. It is through this process of repair, the release of fear and movement forward, that we learn those necessary things. This is life: Walk the path, stumble, fall, get up, walk some more...

To have great poets... there must be great audiences
~ Walt Whitman

Thank you for being that audience!
