Crown of Thorns

Pricked my finger
Upon my crown of thorns
A stinging reminder
As the blood turns tacky
I'm not at all who I wanted to be
Bearing scars
Mostly invisible, but definitely felt
In spite of this
I am very glad to still feel
Something

  1. This reminded me of a GooGoo Dolls lyric I love: "you bleed just to know you're alive."
