Putting It To Good Use

It Must Be Time For Lunch Now ~ 1979, Francesca Woodman

String them end to end
  Forks, Spoons
Leave them dangling
In the wind
  Clink, Clink, Clink
Of dingy silver
Amusing a hungry soul
The only way it can

Medicated

freedigitalphotos.net

You proceed the same...
You speak like always
   I observe
Fluttering about or
Lounging leisurely
   In this manner
   Nothing has changed

Same obnoxious jokes
Filtered views
   I notice
You just can't fix ignorant
With pills
   In this manner
   You are still you

Still unmotivated
Unmoved to accomplish tasks
   I sigh
Having to be told what your
Priorities should be
   In this manner
   Nothing has changed

You are who you will always be...
at least you aren't yelling anymore

Spew

Words rupture in my mouth
I upchuck
Spewing thoughts
Opinions, feelings
All over your
Surprised face

Drenching you in
Questions and excitement
marks

Disagreeable you
Wipe them off and
Toss them away
Like they never where
In existence

* I used the word excitement mark because that is what my 6yr old likes to call exclamation points!

You don't have to "get" me all the time

Definitions spring from words
Being read off the screen
Coming together in space to form
Automatically
One universal theme

Some people "get it"
Some don't
Either way it's alright
I don't want to be analyzed
Just appreciated

Solitude

HERE
  this place
  this world
  is mine

My rules suffice

HERE
  thoughts are protected
  a mind can wonder
  justification wins

The world is mine

HERE
  i'm beautiful
  i'm knowledgeable
  i'm all

Everything to everyone

HERE
  i am okay
  i am safe
  i am free

In my mind

HERE
  the world is mine

Life Within The Season

Mothers pallet is comprised of an earthen blend
With golden underscores
Leaves heavy with paint rain downward
Crunching beneath sneakered feet
Creating a most beautiful symphony
Rewarding a more lively and aware world
Whom celebrate her genius within her masterpiece

Anxious mouths and belly's
Teased by scintillating aromas
Drifting throughout inviting spaces
Gift chocolate greetings
Including pie crust smiles
Warming chilled emotions
As they arrive

From abbreviated days
And jewel encrusted nights
Where wooden smells invade the streets
Rolling like fog
Cars moving steadily through
Like ships on a cheerless sea
Sailors eager to spy the sunny promise of home

Where pots explode with nourishment
Love and pride
Partake of it; homemade comfort
Surrounded by familiar faces
And constant verbal excitement
A lullaby crackling beneath the hearth
Quiets the night so all may lie beneath cloth layers

His Venus

Venus and The Sailor, 1925, by Salvador Dali

Tongue skimming across cracked lips as
Tobacco smoke curls around pink flesh
Rising in the direction of his gaze
Becoming night
In which his Venus illuminates

Longing lives within bloodshot eyes
Having witnessed death, destruction
Longing floats upon lyrics of a sailors song
Howling
Desiring her to leave her perch
To join him

His arms outstretched to accept

Nightly he awaits her spirit
Upon the heavens she graces
Guiding him toward her- Home
Envisioning her manifested
Cradling her glory meant only for him

A Painted House

Morning Solitude
Penetrates wood pores
Awakening A Painted House
Luring anxious Windows and Doors
To fling outward accepting
The decisive Suns spotlight
Baptizing it in an ethereal glow
As birdsong fastens the mood

Breakfast

Breakfast, 1921, Fernand Leger

Buttered happiness
Floats atop sticky pools
Ripe with sweet, hungry smiles
And lips stained blue
From pancake memories

A perfect morning in a mostly imperfect world

Reprieve

The scent of coffee and rain awakens the house
To find that relief from heated days
Arrived upon the wind
Creating a collective *sigh* to gather in the air

Once shut for protection
Doors and minds fling open to the world
Inviting in the crisp scent of cool
And the promise of Autumns return

Stale breathe escapes into the atmosphere
As hope swells in the belly of the neighborhood

Night's Conquest

Stardust peppers my lashes
Setting eyes aglow
As moon beams flame my soul
Night crawls atop me as I rest on bare earth
Embracing my curves
Whispering... whispering breathlessly
Against pale skin
Seducing me toward darkness
Promising endless pleasures
Pleasure to no end...

Soul of Night

Summer Night, 1913, by Albert Bloch

Atmospheric souls cushion the night
Conceived of earth and specter
Wandering between worlds of reality and theory
Respecting the universe beyond our sky
Caressing, loving the presence of others as they merge
Forming one entity
Touching hands to heart
As they converse within a wooden sanctuary
Instilling their thoughts, knowledge into our dreams
While they observe our slumbering bodies

Wandering between worlds
Soul of night

At War With Me

I have yet to breathe
enough hours to rid
my mind of you

acquiring enough minutes
to spend contemplating
your soul

defying every second
that your existence
spills away

fearing the day
you forever take leave
from my life

It's not possible for me to love you,
yet I find myself trying
